Since my Mommeh installed it, I had to check everything for safety.  Luckily, it was easy to install because my Mommeh is not very handy.  It sticks to the windowsill with strong velcro.  Velcro reminds me of the barbs on my tongue! It also comes with screws you can use on wooden windowsills if you prefer.

The Harley Quinn likes it, too. You can see he takes up the entire perch.  Harley weighs about 12 pounds, but he is a long cat!  If you are a hefty kitty, it might be a tight fit.

I am trying to display my proud, happy and satisfied expression. Did I do good?

I think this would make a very most excellent holiday gift! There is also a Heated Cat Perch for kittehs that live in a colder climate!

When I say I got to review the toys, I really mean my dogs had the sheer pleasure of spending hours romping in the yard with them, playing fetch and tug-o-war and just generally having fun with them.

Sea Shammies

I gave them the Sea Shammies plush dog toys first, and the way my dogs’ ears perked up and they started running around the house excitedly told me everything I needed to know. These adorable, fluffy toys with the squeakers inside were an instant hit. The only problem the dogs had was deciding which one to play with. The crab, the blowfish, the octopus, or the starfish? Fortunately, they didn’t have to choose. They grabbed each toy, one after the other, taunting each other as if to say, “Look what I got! I know you want it!” Then they’d play a little tug-o-war, and one would give up and go for one of the other three toys, and the cycle would begin again. The Sea Shammies are holding up well to the rough play and chewing. They are dirty from being in the yard, but other than that, they’re in perfect condition. I definitely recommend them to all dog owners. They’re soft enough to be a cuddle toy, durable enough to handle chewing and gnawing, and cute enough to make you want to buy one of your own. They’re light weight, so even small dogs can easily play with them. My dog Lula is an 11 pound Jack Russell mix, and Romeo is a 35 pound Lab mix, and the toys suit both of them just right.

Nubbins Head Dog

The Nubbins Head soft stuffed dog is too cute for words! He has an big snout that is totally endearing – both to me and my dogs! As you can see, they let sibling rivalry get in the way and fought over who got dibs! Its body fur has a soft, nubby texture that feels good in my hands, and I’m guessing, in my dogs’ mouths. Lula especially loved it. She did not want to put it down. It’s a little smaller than the Sea Shammies, so it might be more suited for small to medium dogs, but I don’t see any reason bigger dogs wouldn’t love it as well. There’s a bonus squeaker too – one in the head and one in the body – so there’s plenty of squeak power.

Grubber Rubber Football

This rubber football is perfect for the season! At 10 inches long and weighing 1.75 lbs, this bright green rubber football is great for medium and large dogs to chew on. It’s shaped like a football, but rather than having rubber all around, there are four sections with open space between them, which helps your dog pick it up and carry it. I found that throwing it was a lot like throwing a traditional football, but with quite a bit more weight.

It was designed as a heavy-duty toy for aggressive chewers, and the unique open design makes it easy for dogs to wrap their mouths around. The rubber on the football is textured with nubs in the openings making chewing that much more fun. I really liked the heavy duty design and the bright green color (it’s easy to find in the yard!), and Romeo had a blast playing fetch with it. I think it’s a great purchase, and I recommend it (so does Romeo), but be warned – it’s not for the faint of heart. It’s too big and heavy for Lula, so it’s probably not right for small dogs, but medium and large dogs should love it as much as Romeo does!

Dog Car Seat and Travel Carrier Review:

I went to a local shelter on a mission; to give a cat a better home. If anyone has ever adopted a pet from a shelter, you know that things can get a little “furry”, if you will, between trying to find the right pet for you and not annoy everyone in the shelter with a million questions. However, it seems they had a question for me, “Do you have a carrier to take him home in?” At first, I said no, but then I realized I had the pet carrier in my car which I was taking to a friend of mine to use for her dog. Talk about perfect timing! You wouldn’t believe all the shelter employees marveling over how nice it was, and I have to agree, it looks like a piece of luggage from the way it fits nicely on your shoulder. Even with Salem (my cat) inside, it was lightweight and easy to carry. Plus, the zipped front pockets came in handy to hold Salem’s adoption papers. I put the carrier on my shoulder and away we went.

The large size carrier and was big enough to give my new pet ample amount of space to lie down, roll on his back or whatever else he felt inclined to do. Although the large carrier was what I had on hand, Salem is a 10-pound cat, so I’d recommend pet owners of a similar size pet to use the medium carrier because the large is very big and can hold pets up to 24 lbs.

After securing Salem in the car, I kept him in the passenger seat so I could keep an eye on him and kept the top mesh zipped up the whole way home. He did meow quite a bit so I laid my hand on the top of the mesh so he could come and nuzzle me and that seemed to calm him. Finally, I was home with a new cat in tow, and I must admit the trek was very smooth and safe, especially since I had the carrier to use and not a cat running around my car while I was driving.

Needless to say, I don’t think I will be giving the carrier up to my friend that easily, now I just keep it in my car so when I want to take Salem with me it’s always there, ready to be used.
