1-800-PetMeds sends well-deserved goodie boxes to the Pasco Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit

For well over 100 years, dogs have been trained and used by law enforcement agencies to aid in police work. Today, K-9 units are vital members of the police force. These four-legged officers, such as the dogs of the Pasco Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit, work hard every day to keep our neighborhoods and families safe and secure.

Intelligence, aggression, strength, and an acute sense of smell are just a few of the traits that police dogs possess. Some police dog breeds include the German Short-Haired Pointer, Bloodhound, Boxer, Labrador Retriever, German Shepherd, Doberman, and Rottweiler. In Pasco County, Florida, specifically, the Pasco Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit consists of German Shepherds, Bloodhounds, Retrievers, and more. These dogs are rigorously trained to carry out many difficult tasks. In addition to tracking and capturing criminals, they also track and rescue missing or abducted people. They also assist with warrant sweeps and sniff out drugs, contraband, bombs, and other explosives.

Without asking anything in return, these loyal dogs risk their lives daily to serve and protect their deputies and citizens.  Hard work should be rewarded, and that’s why we sent the 19 active dogs in the K-9 unit of the Pasco Sheriff’s Office a well-deserved package filled with goodies to help keep them healthy and strong.     Im glad to hear what 1-800-petmeds is doing. I’m sure for over the decades they appreciate it what ur doing. U guys are doing a great job & u should be rewarded for ur good deed. To help keep the k9 dogs healthy. So great job & showing ur support to the dogs & the officers in the k9 unit. Keep up the good job.

    After we rescued our dog we took her to the vet. She was afraid and nothing familiar anywhere. After a bit he wen and got her Max the stuffed dog. It must have been because he gave it to her but 10 years later it’s still the only stuffed animal she will play with. I bought her 3 or 4 of them over the years after sewing the one she had every which way I could I’d get her a new one and after give her the old one just long enough to wash and dry the new one. Anyway I went back to Pet Meds and found out they were discontinued. I was and am in panic mode. She takes that thing everywhere I don’t know what I’m going to do. She’s a senior now and loves Max as much as always or more. I was hoping maybe someone had a couple of them in a closet or something. Sorry to be so long winded but he is so important to her I thought I’d get on here and ask.
