Bella Bakes Pumpkin Cinnamon Dog Treats

Most everypawdy who knows me will know that I am on a very special diet because I make bladder stones of the calcium oxalate variety so there are a lot of foods that I am not supposed to eat. Most commercial dog foods and treats have some of those ingredients in them so I don’t get a lot of cookies and dog bones like a lot of other dogs do. Mommy has perfected a recipe just for me though, and I am going to share that here with my readers. These treats are really yummy!  (I am fussing at her to give me another treat as she is typing this, too, so please excuse any typing errors)

Treats 1

For this recipe, preheat your oven to 350F.  Here are the ingredients:

Treats 2

1/2 Cup canned pumpkin (not pie filling, just pure pumpkin)

4 TBS Molasses

4 TBS water

1 egg

2 TBS Canola oil

2 Cups white rice flour (gluten free and available at WalMart!)

1/4 tsp baking soda

1/4 tsp baking powder

1 tsp cinnamon

Treats 3

Mix the pumpkin, molasses, water, egg and canola oil together in a mixing bowl, then fold in the dry ingredients: white rice flour, baking soda, baking powder and cinnamon. Mixture should form a moist dough. You can roll it into little balls and make little round cookies, or you can make the dough without egg and roll it and cut it with a cookie cutter into shapes. Mommy used this cute little silicone dog bone baking mold that she bought at one of the dog shows we went to recently:

Spray it with some baking spray, and spray your fingers too so the dough will be easier to press into the mold without sticking to your fingers. If you use a silicone mold, be sure to put it on a cookie tin. There was enough dough to fill this mold three times with a little left over:

Treats 5

Bake at 350F for 25 minutes, and this is what they look like when done! They are really yummy and all the ingredients are great for all dogs.

Bella

This time , my own furried children are able to benefit as they have allergies and don’t get very many “common” treats either. I did a batch of these over the weekend for them and they loved them!
As always , the pictures are my favorite part and your restraint in proximity to the plate of treats is amazing.
Tell Mommy you earned and extra treat , Cutie. <3
