Bella struts her stuff at Strut Your Mutt-LA

As the Pombassador of Southern California Pomeranian Rescue, I get to attend a lot of fundraising events that benefit homeless pets everywhere. This is the fourth year that I have been able to attend Strut Your Mutt, a nationwide fundraising dog walk for pets and their people to save the lives of shelter pets. Sponsored by Best Friends Animal Society, the walk is held in major cities all across America. This year the Los Angeles area event was held at Woodley Park in Van Nuys, California. It was one of the hottest days of the year, and here I am in my stroller…it is lined with those freezer ice packs under my blankie so I stayed very cool while Mommy roasted:

Even though it was so terribly hot, there were a lot of people and pets that came to support the event. The sponsors had lots of water stations for the dogs, and put a lot of thought into providing as much comfort as possible. Here are some of the participating groups and corporate sponsors this year:

Here my furrend Kiana and I are just resting in the shade before the Strut started:

And here is the Start line, but we were behind a lot of other Strutters so all you can see is the backs of their heads, but just imagine the view that I had from riding in my stroller (hehehe):

Here are a couple of photos of us during the Strut, I bet you won’t have any trouble finding me:

There were two options for the length of the Strut: two miles or four miles. After one mile in the intense heat of the day our group chose the short  Strut and gathered back at the finish line for our Group Picture:

I am very proud to have been one of the many Strutters to participate on behalf of SCPR again this year. Together we raised over $3500 in contributions from our pawesome fans. Thank you everypawdy!

  1. Bella, another Pomtastic blog! I’m sure that those two miles you walked seemed very long on such a hot day. Congratulations for all the money you raised.
