Vote now to change an adoptable pet’s life
Change a Pet’s Life Day was established to encourage pet adoption and draw attention to the many homeless pets in the U.S. In honor of the day, we founded a grant contest in 2015 to provide medical care grants to adoptable pets across the country. Over the past two years, the Change a Pet’s Life Contest has granted funds to help a former puppy mill breeder, Regina, regain her health and gain her first real home, and to help a neglected senior pug, Gorilla, recover from a life of mistreatment to live out his golden years with a loving family.
Now, we need your help to select the winners of the 2017 Change a Pet’s Life Contest. By voting every day for an entered pet, you can help make a difference in that pet’s life.
The contest was open to entries of adoptable pets in need of medical care from U.S. animal shelters and rescues. These groups entered one pet each into the contest. Visit the contest page to see the entries and learn more about each pet and the help he or she needs.
What are the prizes?
- The first-place pet will receive a grant of up to $2,000 to apply towards his or her medical care. The pet and rescue group will also be featured in a video, produced by 1-800-PetMeds Cares™, to will be featured on the 1-800-PetMeds Cares website.
- The second-place pet will receive a grant of $1,000 to apply towards his or her medical care.
- The third-place pet will receive a grant of $500 to apply towards his or her medical care.
How do we vote?
Vote by visiting the contest page, reading through the entries and selecting the pet you wish to vote for. Then, click the “vote” button at the bottom of the entry page. U.S. residents 18 and older can vote once per 24 hours from January 18, 2017, through January 24, 2017, at 11:59 p.m. ET.
Please note, there is a pop-up in the voting process to help limit votes to once a day per person. You may have trouble voting from a phone if you have a pop-up blocker. If you have trouble with this pop-up and wish to vote, either turn off your pop-up blocker in your phone’s settings, then paste the contest link into a browser window to open, or vote using a computer.
