Celebrate DOGust With PetMeds®!

Every dog has their day on DOGust First, the universal birthday for shelter dogs. To celebrate, PetMeds® is giving away a DOGust Birthday Prize Package.
According to the ASPCA, over three million dogs are taken in at animal shelters across the United States each year, many without records of their previous history, their past name, or even a birthday.
In recognition of adopted rescues and dogs currently awaiting adoption in shelters, dog lovers celebrate DOGust First on August 1st as a universal birthday for all rescue dogs. First coined by North Shore Animal League America (NSALA) in 2008, it’s also a holiday to raise awareness of dogs who are still in need.
Dog parents of rescues can celebrate by taking their dog on a special outing to their favorite park, serving up a favorite meal, or going on a shopping spree for treats and toys.
Rescue dogs in need of homes deserve to be honored too. Anyone can join in on the celebration by supporting a local shelter through volunteering, donating, or even adopting a new four-legged family member to give them the best birthday gift ever: a forever home.
There’s millions of dogs in shelters right now waiting to be adopted. Those who aren’t sure if they’re ready to adopt can volunteer to walk or foster a dog and might just meet their new best friend.
PetMeds® is celebrating shelter dogs by giving away DOGust Birthday prize packs to 4 lucky winners through the month of August. All dog parents are invited to enter for a chance to win by leaving a comment below.

Gizmo will celebrate her first birthday in her forever home with treats, love, and a long walk in Yorba Regional Park with her doggy buddies. Gizmo is a supersmart supermutt! And will be 2 years old!!!
Annie is a rescue who has found her forever home. She loves to take walks with her doggie cousins, & her favorite place to snuggle is right next to her mommy or pappy.
She is the best dog ever!
Pet meds is great, they all ways help me out when iam not sure what to do , the people are wonderful and very knowl edgeable.
My 12 year old Black Lab will spend her birthday at Wolf Creek Ranch and swim in the pond, run around, and bask in the sun, in the sand as she pleases! She has lots of arthritis so we do not go there as much. She feels she must keep up with all of the dogs there. We thank Pet meds for helping us with our sweet girl’s needs.
Piper will be relaxing by the pool!
Kona and Hilo will be spending their DOGust birthdays playing in the yard with their most beloved Jolly Egg toy! We have been taking weekly hikes, and enjoying these last few dog days of summer.
Our fur babies went on the lake with the rest of the family. They went swimming and loved playing ball with the kids. When we got home they both sat next to the cat and passed out cold from having such a good time.
The cat got her favorite treats and an extra long day with the dogs out of her house.
I bet she loved it 😊
Our black lab loves a game of catch, but also loves to play keep away. He can be such a tease. He loves our place in the country, and is often found stealing his moms bed pillow. He’s a cuddle.
Summer will be one year old March 23 and her brothers, Joey and Jace will be four on June 5. We will celebrate each with pup cups and belly rubs. We love our “tuft” of Pomeranians.
Ginger will celebrate her 18th birthday with a low key party at home with her beasties Jasper and Layla. Since she’s an old lady she will eat birthday cake biscuits from Bocce’s bakery and just chill here in San Diego.
Scotty will be having a big party this year!
He’s Three years old!
Bailey will be taking a rocket into space to visit his bestie Pluto 🚀
Our dog Snoopy will be 16 years old in March. We always celebrate each day with a cup of coffee for us and a heart of thankfulness knowing he’s going for a walk or run at least 3 times a week. He’s an amazing Shih-tzu Maltese who still runs between 3-4 miles on the weekends after pulling his ACL ligament. The vet said he’d never run again but he was totally wrong!
Bella will be 2 in dec.10,celebrating with her new sister 2 months
New pup stormy will have big party
We go for a pup cup from Starbucks, then on to PetSmart for a new toy and then do a little shopping at TJMaxx, quick stop for a birthday treat to share with the siblings and then back home to play fetch, cuddle and then enjoy a special birthday treat (timbits ❤️).
Our Malshi will be 7 months old tomorrow and his name is Roark. He was named after my husband’s aunt who passed away a month before Roark was born so we decided to name him after her last name because she loved dogs. He goes everywhere with us, doctor appointments, church, when we our daughter or our family members and even to emergency room visits. The only time we leave him home is if we go to eat dinner with our daughter and son in law which is rare and I get sad when I am not around him. He had his first full groom a few days ago and being 2 hours away from him had me thinking of him and even calling his name.
Linus is turning 12 in Sept. He just lost his 14 yr old sister last week and is very sad.
Yaz was free from a breeder and after we brought her home, we knew why. She has the oddest personality of any dog I have ever known. She needed us. Gunner was rehomed to us when his previous family had to move and could not take him with them. We don’t know his birthday. What an energetic joy he is. We plan to give them a bath, take them for a walk, and give them treats.
We have three rescues and don’t really celebrate birthdays but their gotcha day. That’s much more special to us in our little family.
Buddy is celebrating his birthday by traveling with us and seeing new things. His heart ❤️ meds from you guys have kept him going strong. He is 14 years young.
We have several rescues on top of our original crew! Always birthday pictures and playing ball!!!
Our 180 pound great dane, Otis, turns 3 and will be celebrating with his two dog sisters, and brother cat, by splashing in his personal pool filled with ice cubes! Of course, everyone will celebrate with dog cake for dessert.
Im celebrating my pups 19th burthday ( after he was returned to the pound by others 3 xs) he still enjoys his walks and his 4 medications on his food. His medications have improved his quality of life greatly! Thanks petmeds!
Pyro will be playing ball, depending on weather may get a trip to the beach or dock diving pool and always get some special treats.
