[Enter to win] Thankful Pet Sweepstakes

As we enter the holiday season, we can’t help but feel a little extra thankful for all of the great things in our lives, one of them being our pets! Of course, they can get on our nerves at times, but as pet parents, we love them unconditionally and are so grateful to share our lives with them every single day. Even though our pets can’t understand us when we tell them we love them, they know we care for them by our pets, playtime, feedings, and overall quality time spent together. Show your pet how much you love them by entering the Thankful Pet Sweepstakes for a chance to win an awesome prize!

How do pets show their love for us?

It’s no secret our pets love us. They are so grateful to be able to spend time with the people they love. If our pets had it their way, they would spend every waking minute with us. While they can’t verbally tell us how much they love us, they let us know in their own special way.

Dogs are generally very affectionate creatures and can communicate very effectively if you know what to look for.  Below are some of the ways your dog is telling you he or she loves you:

  • Nose nudge (boop)
  • Eye contact
  • Licking
  • Jumping
  • Leaning on you or sitting on your feet

Some cats may seem as though they are indifferent, but they actually show their love and gratitude in many ways as well, in addition to the obvious purring. Any of these behaviors below are expressions of your cat’s love for you:

  • Bunting (headbutt)
  • Kneading
  • Presenting prey as gifts
  • Playing
  • Sleeping on your lap

  1. It’s hard to keep the old girls off the couch and chairs. They just don’t like sleeping on the hard floor in their old age. I don’t blame them. This bed would be great for them to sleep in and still keep them on the floor. The only problem is, that they would fight over it.

  2. Bo-Dawg needs a good bed.

  3. I can’t afford luxuries for my Lucky. He has to spend lots of time in bed because of his condition. Comfort would be great for him.

  4. Our cat has been sharing our bed, couch, and the dogs bed for years. He’ll be happy with one of his own!

  5. I think our dogs are most thankful for food, shelter, treats, a fenced in yard and a loving home.

  6. My dogs are most thankful when they are praised for doing what I ask, when we go for walks and to the dog park, for my huge fenced in yard and for each other as playmates. They like it best when I don’t leave them at home alone very long, and greet me enthusiastically when I come in the door. They also like sleeping in my bedroom where I can reach down to pet them, are thankful
for good food and treats, and that they are allowed on the loveseat by the window. Their beds are getting pretty flattened out, and I wish I could afford new ones, but were doing okay.

  7. My one year to be (Dec. 2nd) Maltese “Corkey” is just about the best thing that ever happened in our lives. He totally settled in at 10 months old, knows his place, understands just about every word you say and obeys all commands. Unfortunatle when he was approximatly I’d say 5 to 6 months old he was running around the screened in pool area with the zoomies after it rained, he slipped and lost his footing plunging into the pool. I immediatly scooped him out, from that point forward he was petrified of water he would stand by the edge of the pool and bark for a few seconds, sort of cute in a way, if you mention pool or water he would look at you sideways. He hated baths or grooming for the longest time fortunatly now he is accepting it as a way of life.It has been a journey a few bumps in the road along the way but now it’s like cruising in the Cadillac with the music softly playing.. “Corkey” is the joy of life!

  8. I think bo is very thankful for being able to come to california and l Iive with us after my father-in-law passed away in November of 2017 in Missouri. at first he was so scared and didn’t want to move at all. we had to carry him up stairs all 85 lb of him. LOL , know I think he enjoy running up and down the stairs. Bo shows lots of love and affection to all of us and we just love having him we can’t imagine our lives without he is such a great dog ! He loves going for walks and runs and just laying on the grass outside.
