A special day just for dogs

Daisy prepares for October festivities
October is a pretty fun month, don’t you think? I’ve been trying to decide on the perfect Halloween costume, but I don’t think it’s too early to wear this fancy orange party collar. I have discovered that October is even MORE fun for dogs! The weather is getting cooler, perfect for long walks and fun outdoor events like Barktoberfest. I am an Indoor Cat, so I could not attend, but I did get to learn all about it since my Mommeh attended (and I enjoy spying on what all those dogs are up to).

Another happy Barktoberfest dog
This was the PetMeds booth at Barktoberfest, which was held at Quiet Waters Park in south Florida. Dogs who stopped by could get a free gourmet dog biscuit and a Max TV Star doll! I’m pretty sure Max made lots of new friends that day.

Look at this cute dog! I like him because he has curly fur, just like me.

A dog enjoys the festivities from a stroller
This dog was lucky and got to ride around in style in a cool pet stroller! Since it was a nice day, he even had the convertible top down.
Dogs having fun at Barktoberfest
I heard that the funnest part of the event was the water park which was open just for dogs that weekend! Little dogs got the pool to themselves for the first hour, then dogs of every size had a chance to play in the water.  Personally, I don’t see what’s so fun about a bunch of water but it looks like the dogs were having a great time.

Max goes for a swim
Even Max the TV Star doll had a great time. But I heard he had to send his lab coat out to the dry cleaners after this…

What’s your favorite thing about October?

  3. My human wishes there were more events she could take ME to! She is planning to dress me up to take me to the pet store, at least. I have several costumes to choose from. We may even have that party collar lying around somewhere – Sparkle had one just like it! She did not like wearing it, but I’m sure I would not mind.

  4. Summer, you sure are brave! I think an orange and black party collar would look fabulous with your furs.

  5. Great Post, Pet’s entire life is dedicated to Pet Owner. He or she wants to be with you every second of the day. We spend as much time with our furry companions as we can.

Daisy you always model the cutest outfits and costumes, looking beautiful. What will you be for Halloween this year? Do you have a costume yet? How about the Harleymaniac? Would you ever allow your human to get you a dog costume?! My cats Kaspars and Clove tell me that this idea is illegal, that by law a feline cannot be made to dress up as a canine. Supposedly it is punishable by law and cats…I’m not sure if I’m being tricked here or not?

  7. I have a special costume that I cannot wait to show off! But I will tell you what Harley is wearing: he’s going to be CRAYON!!!

I am pretty sure that it is against the law for a dog to wear a cat costume, but cats are permitted to dress up like dogs if they want.

  8. That looks like a pretty special day those dogs had, Daisy! Moosey and Zoe like playing with water, but just in the sink, since they are indoor kitties, just like you.
