Daisy wigs out for Presidents’ Day

You might be wondering why I am wearing this cool wig. It is in honor of Presidents’ Day today! This holiday was originally created to celebrate George Washington’s birthday, on account of he is the father of our country. Thanks, George! (am I allowed to call him George?)

Now this day is also a great day to shop all the great sales, and to wear your own white powdered wig. I think I look just like Thomas Jefferson in my fancy wig! I do not recommend wearing your wig to the mall, but you can wear it at home while you are watching TV.

Who else wants to join me in wearing a white wig? If you don’t have a wig, ask your mom if you can tear up a bag of cotton balls to make one of your very own !

Oopsie! Be careful, because wigs are a little bit hard to wear.

Did you know that George Washington refused to wear a powdered wig, even though it was in fashion back then? Instead, he powdered his real hair and wore it in a short braid. Want to find out more interesting Presidential trivia? Check out this cool infographic on Presidential Pets!
