Cat afraid of the vacuum? How to keep the vacuum-monster away!

If you are like many cats (and some dogs, too!) you might be a little bit scared of the vacuum cleaner. As your friend, I would like to reassure you that even though this thing roars loudly and rolls across the carpet like it’s gonna get you, it is NOT actually a monster.

Look at me! Just to prove that this thing is safe, I will touch the beast with my very own unprotected paws. Here is a secret: this thing loves to suck up loose pet hair. I think that’s what it eats for dinner. If you want to have fewer encounters with it, you have to stop leaving your fur all over the place. One way to do that is to ask your mom or dad to groom you regularly with something like the FURminator de-Shedding tool. Besides helping to keep the dreaded vacuum away, brushing feels real good. Also, getting rid of all that loose fur can help keep hairballs away, too.

Hey vacuum! Even though you are not a real monster, I’m still keeping my eye on you.

Are you afraid of the vacuum cleaner? I won’t tell anyone!

  1. This is very sound advise, Daisy! I love to get brushings. I think if my mom did it eleventy times a day she would never have to vacuum. I would be willing to endure that, just for her.
