The reasons you will love a shelter cat

Harley was adopted from a cat shelter

I know, you were probably expecting to see Daisy. But June is Adopt a Shelter Cat Month, and since I myself was adopted from a cat shelter I am the expert on this topic!

Harley lived at the shelter for 6 months

This is me, with some of my friends at the shelter where I lived from the time I was a kitten until I was adopted when I was 6 months old. I do not know why it took so long for someone to adopt me. Probably I wasn’t quite as good as the other cats and kittens. Anyway, I do know that you can find some very excellent cats at a shelter. Since I was a shelter cat, I will tell you some of the awesome things about us!

Shelter cats enjoy boxes

First of all, shelter cats enjoy boxes, too! So if you have an empty box in your household, consider bringing home a shelter cat.  They will know just what to do with it.

Harley takes good care of his toys

Shelter cats enjoy toys, and know how to take good care of their toys. This catnip banana is one of my favorites. One day at the shelter I got an extra-special toy, and I growled at any other cats that tried to take it away from me. This is a true story. Now that I have an entire toybox filled with my very own toys, I do not mind sharing.

Harley has good manners

Living at the shelter for many months, I learned good cat manners. Even though I sometimes play too rough with Daisy, most of the time I am a Very Good Boy.

Harley enjoys hugs

I enjoy giving and receiving hugs.

Harley hopes every shelter cat finds a home

Most of all I am very grateful that I have a Forever home now. I am going to wish my hardest that every shelter cat will find a home, too. Won’t you consider adopting your next cat from a shelter? I would love that!
